Clomipramine falls under PHOTOSENSITIZING DRUGS — the group Chlorophyllin interacts with.

Theoretically, concomitant use of chlorophyllin with photosensitizing drugs may have additive effects.
Chlorophyllin is a semi-synthetic derivative of chlorophyll. Chlorophyll has been reported to cause photosensitization. Orally, chlorophyll has also been associated with the development of pseudoporphyria in multiple case reports.

Here's the simple version: this isn't about how your body breaks down clomipramine. Instead, both clomipramine and chlorophyllin can each make your skin more sensitive to sunlight. Clomipramine, like many tricyclic antidepressants, can cause photosensitivity, meaning you may sunburn faster or notice rashes after time outdoors. Adding chlorophyllin, which has been linked to sun-related skin reactions, could add to that effect.

I want to be honest about the strength of this: it's mostly theoretical and based on case reports, not strong studies. It won't make your clomipramine work better or worse. To be safe, use sunscreen and cover up in strong sun, and check with your pharmacist or doctor before starting chlorophyllin.

Clomipramine — sold as Anafranil and under the generic name Clomipramine Hydrochloride — is approved to treat obsessions and compulsions in people with Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD). This includes adults and children/adolescents ages 10 to 17.

To qualify for treatment, the obsessions or compulsions must cause significant distress, take up a lot of time, or noticeably interfere with work, school, or social life.
