Lisinopril falls under PHOTOSENSITIZING DRUGS — the group Chlorophyllin interacts with.

Theoretically, concomitant use of chlorophyllin with photosensitizing drugs may have additive effects.
Chlorophyllin is a semi-synthetic derivative of chlorophyll. Chlorophyll has been reported to cause photosensitization. Orally, chlorophyll has also been associated with the development of pseudoporphyria in multiple case reports.

Here's the thing to know about pairing chlorophyllin with lisinopril: this isn't about how your body breaks down the medication. Lisinopril is already active when you take it, and chlorophyllin won't change its blood pressure effect, its potassium levels, or that nagging dry cough some folks get. So you don't need to worry about your lisinopril working too strongly or too weakly.

The concern here is purely about your skin. Chlorophyllin can make some people more sensitive to sunlight, and certain blood pressure medicines are grouped as light-sensitizing too, so the worry is an additive sunburn-type reaction. Honestly, this is mostly theoretical for lisinopril. If you take both, just be sensible with sunscreen and hats. Run it by your pharmacist if you spend a lot of time outdoors.

Chlorophyllin is a water-soluble, semi-synthetic form of chlorophyll most often used to help control body and fecal odor and to support wound healing. The best evidence is for its use as a deodorizing agent, while many popular claims like detoxification and digestive benefits are not well proven. It is generally considered safe for short-term use, but talk to your pharmacist or doctor before starting it, especially during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

About Lisinopril

What Is Lisinopril Used For?

Brand names: Zestril, Prinivil, Qbrelis

Lisinopril treats high blood pressure (hypertension) in adults and children 6 years and older, and can be used alone or alongside other blood pressure medicines. Lowering blood pressure reduces the risk of strokes and heart attacks. The tablet combination product containing lisinopril and hydrochlorothiazide is specifically indicated for high blood pressure.

Lisinopril is also used as an add-on therapy to reduce signs and symptoms of systolic heart failure, and to reduce the risk of death in people who are hemodynamically stable (have reasonably stable circulation) within 24 hours of an acute heart attack (acute myocardial infarction).
