Here's the gist with Arthrotec, which combines diclofenac (an NSAID pain reliever) with misoprostol (added to protect your stomach). On its own, diclofenac can already nudge up your bleeding risk because it affects how platelets clump together and can irritate the stomach lining. The concern with chrysin is that, in test-tube studies, it appears to slow platelet clumping too. Stack the two and you could, in theory, see more bruising, nosebleeds, or stomach bleeding.

I'll be honest though: this is a theoretical caution drawn from lab research, not from people, and your body barely absorbs chrysin to begin with. So the real risk is probably low. Still, since diclofenac already carries its own bleeding and GI risks, it's worth a quick chat with your pharmacist or doctor before combining them.

Theoretically, chrysin might increase the effects and adverse effects of diclofenac.
In vitro research suggests that chrysin and its sulfate conjugate inhibit diclofenac metabolism. It is speculated that chrysin and its sulfate conjugate reduce the metabolism of diclofenac by inhibiting cytochrome P450 2C9. This effect has not been reported in humans.

Arthrotec is a combo pill: diclofenac (an anti-inflammatory pain reliever) paired with misoprostol to help protect your stomach. The diclofenac part is the piece chrysin could touch. In test-tube studies, chrysin appears to slow down an enzyme called CYP2C9 that your body uses to clear diclofenac. If that clearance slows, more diclofenac could linger in your system, which in theory means stronger effects and a higher chance of side effects like stomach upset, ulcers or bleeding, fluid retention, or stress on the kidneys.

I want to be honest with you, though: this is only lab data, and it has never been shown to happen in real people. The body also absorbs very little chrysin to begin with, so the real-world risk is likely small. Still, since diclofenac already carries stomach and kidney risks, it's worth a quick chat with your pharmacist or doctor before combining them.
