Theoretically, taking cinchona with other QT interval-prolonging drugs might cause an additive effect and increase the risk of ventricular arrhythmias.

Here's the thing to know about pairing cinchona with terfenadine (Seldane). Terfenadine is famous for one big risk: it can stretch out the heart's electrical cycle, what doctors call the QT interval. When that gets too long, it can trigger a dangerous, fast heart rhythm. Cinchona bark naturally contains quinine and quinidine, and both of those also lengthen the QT interval. Stack them together and the effects can add up.

This concern is theoretical, based on how these compounds behave rather than on reported cases, so I don't want to alarm you. But terfenadine was actually pulled from the U.S. market years ago for exactly this kind of heart risk. Please don't combine these without checking with your pharmacist or doctor first.
