Here's the gist: your body relies heavily on an enzyme called CYP2D6 to break down vortioxetine (Trintellix). Cinchona bark contains quinidine, which is known to block that same enzyme. If you slow down the cleanup crew, more vortioxetine can hang around in your system than expected, which could mean a stronger effect and a higher chance of side effects like nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, or trouble sleeping.

Now, I want to keep this in perspective. This concern is theoretical, based on how these compounds behave rather than real-world reports with this exact pair. Still, cinchona supplements are unpredictable and carry their own heart risks, so I'd run it by your pharmacist or doctor before combining the two.
