Terfenadine falls under QT INTERVAL-PROLONGING DRUGS — the group Ephedra interacts with.

Theoretically, ephedra might have an additive effect with drugs that prolong the QT interval.
Even in healthy volunteers, EKG changes including prolonged QT interval and premature atrial contractions have been reported with ingestion of recommended doses of ephedra. Ephedra may have an additive effect with drugs that prolong the QT interval. This may increase the risk of ventricular arrhythmias.

Here's the heart of this one: Terfenadine (Seldane) is an older antihistamine that's known to stretch out the heart's electrical cycle, something we call QT prolongation. Ephedra, with its stimulant compounds like ephedrine, can do the very same thing on its own, even at normal doses in healthy people. Stack them together and you get an additive effect that can nudge the heart toward dangerous rhythm problems (ventricular arrhythmias).

That's a serious concern, since an irregular heartbeat can show up as palpitations, dizziness, fainting, or worse. Two extra notes: this is rated a major interaction, and Terfenadine itself was actually pulled from the U.S. market years ago because of these very heart risks. Ephedra is banned in supplements here too. If you're using either, please talk with your pharmacist or doctor about safer, approved options before doing anything.
