In laboratory research, cnidium has been shown to have sedative and hypnotic effects, possibly related to constituent coumarins. Theoretically, cnidium may potentiate the effects of barbiturates, other sedatives, and anxiolytics.

Flupenthixol is an antipsychotic that, like many of these medicines, can already make you feel drowsy or mentally slowed down. The concern here is simple: cnidium has shown sedative effects in lab and animal studies, mostly from its coumarin compounds. Stacking that calming effect on top of flupenthixol could, in theory, leave you more tired, foggy, dizzy, or unsteady than usual.

I want to be honest about the strength of this, though. This is based only on laboratory and animal research, not on people taking the two together, so it's more of a theoretical caution than a proven problem. Still, since added drowsiness can affect driving and balance, it's worth a quick chat with your pharmacist or doctor before combining them.
