Corydalis yanhusuo contains berberine. In vitro research and preliminary clinical evidence show that berberine can inhibit CYP2D6. Theoretically, Corydalis yanhusuo might also inhibit CYP2D6.

Namzaric combines two medicines for Alzheimer's symptoms: donepezil and memantine. Donepezil is partly cleared by a liver enzyme called CYP2D6, and corydalis (which also contains berberine) may slow that enzyme down. In theory, that could let donepezil build up a bit more in your system. If that happens, you might notice more of donepezil's usual side effects, like nausea, diarrhea, poor appetite, trouble sleeping, muscle cramps, or a slower heartbeat. The memantine part isn't broken down this way, so it's mainly the donepezil piece we're thinking about.

Keep in mind this is a theoretical concern based on lab studies, not real-world reports, so it may never cause a problem. Still, it's worth a quick chat with your pharmacist or doctor before combining them.

Here's the simple version. Namzaric combines two medicines: donepezil and memantine. Donepezil is partly cleared by a liver enzyme called CYP3A4. Corydalis yanhusuo contains berberine, which lab and early human studies suggest may slow that same enzyme down a bit. So in theory, taking this herb could let donepezil build up slightly, which might mean more of its usual side effects, things like nausea, diarrhea, loss of appetite, a slower heart rate, dizziness, or trouble sleeping.

I want to be honest though: this is a theoretical concern based on how the herb behaves in the lab, not proven in people on Namzaric. It's not a reason to panic. Just loop in your pharmacist or doctor before combining them, so they can keep an eye on you.
