Theoretically, Corydalis yanhusuo might increase serum levels of drugs metabolized by CYP3A4.
Corydalis yanhusuo contains berberine. In vitro research and preliminary clinical research show that berberine moderately inhibits CYP3A4. Theoretically, Corydalis yanhusuo might also inhibit CYP3A4.

Here's the simple version. Your body uses a liver enzyme called CYP3A4 to help clear prednisone. Corydalis yanhusuo contains berberine, which may slow that enzyme down a bit. If clearance slows, a little more prednisone could linger in your system, which in theory could nudge up its usual side effects like trouble sleeping, mood swings, higher blood sugar, fluid retention, or stomach upset.

I want to be honest about the strength of this, though. It's theoretical, based mostly on lab and early research, not on solid human studies, so the real-world effect may be small or nothing at all. Still, because prednisone already carries plenty of its own side effects, it's worth a quick chat with your pharmacist or doctor before combining them rather than guessing on your own.
