Metharbital is a barbiturate, an older medicine that calms the brain and was used mainly for seizures. It already has a strong sedating effect on its own, slowing down nervous system activity. Corydalis yanhusuo may add to that calming effect, since some of its natural compounds appear to work on the brain in a similar relaxing way.

Put them together and the worry is simply too much sedation: extra drowsiness, dizziness, slowed thinking, or feeling unsteady. I'll be honest with you, this concern is theoretical, based on how these ingredients behave in lab and animal studies rather than real patient reports. Still, with a drug as powerful as metharbital, it's worth a quick chat with your pharmacist or doctor before combining the two.
