Corydalis yanhusuo contains berberine. Animal research suggests that berberine can have hypotensive effects. Also, a clinical study suggests that taking berberine in combination with amlodipine can lower systolic and diastolic blood pressure when compared with amlodipine alone. Theoretically, Corydalis yanhusuo might also reduce blood pressure.

Here's the thing to keep in mind with Treprostinil (Orenitram). It's a medicine that widens your blood vessels to treat pulmonary arterial hypertension, and one of its known effects is lowering blood pressure throughout the body. Corydalis yanhusuo contains compounds (including berberine) that may also nudge blood pressure down. So in theory, taking them together could stack those effects and leave you more lightheaded, dizzy, or prone to fainting, especially when you stand up quickly.

I want to be honest: this concern is theoretical, based on how these substances behave rather than solid human studies with this exact pairing. It's not a reason to panic, but it is worth a quick chat with your pharmacist or doctor before combining them.

Here's the thing about Treprostinil (Orenitram): it's a prostacyclin-type medicine used for pulmonary arterial hypertension, and on its own it can make your blood platelets a little less sticky. That means it already carries some bleeding risk. Corydalis yanhusuo contains berberine, which lab and animal studies suggest may also slow platelets down. Stack the two together and, in theory, you could bruise more easily or have a harder time stopping bleeding from a cut, nosebleed, or shaving nick.

I want to be honest about the evidence here. This concern comes only from test-tube and animal research, not real human studies, so it's more of a theoretical caution than a proven problem. Still, since both can nudge bleeding in the same direction, please check with your pharmacist or doctor before combining them.

About Treprostinil

What Is Treprostinil Used For?

Treprostinil treats pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH; WHO Group 1) — high blood pressure in the arteries of the lungs. Depending on the product and route, it is used to improve exercise ability, delay disease progression, or reduce symptoms tied to physical activity. Remodulin and treprostinil injection products are also indicated for patients who need to transition away from another PAH medicine called epoprostenol.

Tyvaso, Tyvaso DPI, and Yutrepia (inhaled forms) are additionally approved to treat pulmonary hypertension associated with interstitial lung disease (PH-ILD; WHO Group 3) — lung-pressure problems caused by scarring or inflammation in the lung tissue itself. Orenitram (extended-release oral tablet) is specifically indicated to delay disease progression and improve exercise capacity in PAH.
