Gliclazide already works by pushing your pancreas to release more insulin, so it lowers your blood sugar on its own. The concern here is that Damiana may have its own mild blood-sugar-lowering effect, so stacking the two could nudge your numbers a little too low. If that happens, you might feel shaky, sweaty, dizzy, irritable, or suddenly hungry, which are the usual signs of hypoglycemia.

I want to be honest about the evidence though: this is only theoretical and comes from animal studies, not real human data. The occasional cup of Damiana tea is unlikely to cause trouble, but concentrated supplements are more of an unknown. If you'd like to try it, check with your pharmacist or doctor first and keep an eye on your blood sugar readings.
