Here's the basic idea with Kazano (which combines alogliptin and metformin). Both of those medicines already work to bring your blood sugar down. Some animal studies hint that damiana may also nudge blood sugar lower. So in theory, stacking them could push your numbers down a little too far.

If that happened, you might feel the usual signs of low blood sugar (hypoglycemia): shakiness, sweating, dizziness, a racing heart, or feeling foggy and irritable. I'll be honest with you though, this warning is theoretical and based mostly on animal research, not solid human studies. The amount in a cup of damiana tea is unlikely to cause trouble. Still, if you'd like to try a concentrated supplement, check with your pharmacist or doctor first and keep an eye on your readings.
