Here's a twist worth understanding. Glucagon isn't a daily diabetes pill that lowers your sugar. It's a rescue medicine that does the opposite, telling your liver to dump stored sugar into your blood to pull you out of a dangerous low. So glucagon and damiana actually push in different directions.

The concern on file is that damiana may gently lower blood sugar on its own, based only on animal studies, not human proof. In real life, that means if you're prone to lows, regularly using concentrated damiana supplements could make those lows a bit more likely. A cup of damiana tea now and then is unlikely to matter much. If you keep glucagon on hand for emergencies, just mention the damiana to your pharmacist or doctor so they can keep an eye on your numbers.
