Here's the basic idea with damiana and your insulin. In animal studies, damiana on its own nudged blood sugar a little lower. Since insulin already lowers your blood sugar, pairing the two could, in theory, push it down too far. That's called hypoglycemia, and with insulin it can show up as shakiness, sweating, a racing heart, confusion, or feeling lightheaded.

I want to be honest about the evidence: this is theoretical and comes from animal research, not solid human studies, so the real-world risk is likely small. Still, insulin is powerful, so a little extra caution makes sense. If you'd like to try damiana, check your sugars a bit more closely at first and let your pharmacist or doctor know before you start.

Novolin (human insulin injection) is used to improve glycemic control — meaning blood sugar management — in adults and children with diabetes mellitus.

Novolin 70/30 is a fixed-ratio mixture of intermediate-acting and short-acting human insulin. Because the ratio is fixed, it cannot be adjusted separately for background (basal) or mealtime (prandial) needs.
