Here's the gist: insulin lispro is a fast-acting insulin that lowers your blood sugar after meals. There's some early evidence (mostly from animal studies) that damiana may nudge blood sugar down on its own. So if you pair the two, the worry is they could add together and push your sugar too low, a state we call hypoglycemia.

Low blood sugar can show up as shakiness, sweating, a racing heart, confusion, or feeling lightheaded. To be clear, this interaction is theoretical and hasn't been proven in people, so don't panic. If you'd like to try damiana, just keep a closer eye on your glucose readings at first and check in with your pharmacist or doctor before starting it.

What Is Insulin Lispro Injection Used For?

Brand names: Admelog, Admelog Solostar

Insulin lispro injection is used to improve glycemic control (blood sugar management) in people with diabetes mellitus. It is a rapid-acting insulin analog approved for use in both type 1 and type 2 diabetes.

Admelog is specifically indicated to improve glycemic control in patients with diabetes mellitus. Humalog Mix75/25 is indicated to improve glycemic control in adults with diabetes mellitus; it is a fixed-ratio mixture of insulin lispro and insulin lispro protamine, and its fixed proportions do not allow for separate adjustment of basal (background) and prandial (mealtime) doses.
