Here's the concern with pairing these two. Cyclosporine works by calming down your immune system, which is exactly what you want after a transplant or when treating conditions like psoriasis or rheumatoid arthritis. Fermented wheat germ extract may do the opposite, since animal studies hint that it can rev the immune system up. If it nudges your immune system back into action, it could theoretically work against what cyclosporine is trying to do.

For a transplant patient, anything that weakens that protection is worth taking seriously, because even a small loss of control can raise the risk of organ rejection. That said, this is a theoretical worry based on lab and animal data, not real human cases. Please don't start or stop anything on your own. Just loop in your transplant team or pharmacist before adding this supplement.

Cyclosporine is prescribed to help prevent the body from rejecting a transplanted kidney, liver, or heart. It is often used alongside other immunosuppressive medicines as part of a full transplant care plan.

It is also used for adults with severe, active rheumatoid arthritis that hasn't responded well enough to methotrexate, and for adults with severe plaque psoriasis who haven't had success with other standard treatments.
