Here's the basic idea: metoclopramide (Reglan) gently nudges up serotonin activity in your body, and animal studies hint that fermented wheat germ extract may raise serotonin levels in the brain too. Stack them and, in theory, you could get a little more serotonin signaling than you bargained for. We call this serotonergic overlap.

I want to be honest about the strength here, though. This concern comes only from lab and animal data, not from real people, so it is more of a theoretical caution than a proven problem. Still, it's worth knowing the signs of too much serotonin: agitation, a racing heart, sweating, shakiness, or muscle twitching. If you take both, mention it to your pharmacist or doctor and watch for those symptoms rather than stopping anything on your own.

About Metoclopramide

What Is Metoclopramide Used For?

Brand names: Reglan, Metoclopramide Injection, Octamide

Metoclopramide tablets are used in adults for two main conditions. First, they treat symptomatic gastroesophageal reflux (GERD — when stomach acid backs up into the esophagus) in people who haven't gotten relief from standard treatments. Second, they ease symptoms of diabetic gastroparesis, a condition where nerve damage from diabetes causes the stomach to empty too slowly.

Treatment is meant to be short-term. For acid reflux, it's used for 4 to 12 weeks. For diabetic gastroparesis, it's generally used for 2 to 8 weeks. It is not recommended for children due to serious safety concerns.
