Here's the gist for meperidine: this is a pain reliever that, beyond its opioid effect, also nudges serotonin activity in the body. Fermented wheat germ extract may do something similar, since animal studies hint that it can raise brain serotonin levels. Stack the two together and, in theory, you could push serotonin a bit too high.

Of all the opioids, meperidine is one of the more serotonin-active ones, so this is worth a mention. Signs of too much serotonin include agitation, a racing heart, sweating, shivering, muscle twitching, or feeling confused. That said, this warning rests only on lab and animal data, so it's theoretical, not proven in people. Please don't change anything on your own. Just give your oncologist or pharmacist a heads-up so they can keep an eye on you.
