Here's the gist for this pairing. Cyclobenzaprine is a muscle relaxer, but chemically it's a cousin of older antidepressants and it can gently nudge serotonin levels up in your nervous system. Fermented wheat germ extract has been shown, in animal studies only, to raise brain serotonin too. So the theory is that stacking the two could add up and increase serotonin-related side effects.

What might that look like? Things like extra drowsiness, dizziness, agitation, sweating, a racing heart, or feeling shaky. To be honest, this is a theoretical concern based on lab and animal data, not proven in people, so I wouldn't lose sleep over it. Still, since you're on cyclobenzaprine, it's worth a quick chat with your pharmacist or doctor before adding this supplement.

What Is Cyclobenzaprine Used For?

Brand names: Cyclobenzaprine, Flexeril, Cycloprine

Cyclobenzaprine tablets and extended-release capsules are used alongside rest and physical therapy to relieve muscle spasm caused by acute, painful musculoskeletal conditions — easing pain, tenderness, and limited movement. This use is intended for short-term treatment only (up to 2–3 weeks).

Tonmya, the sublingual (under-the-tongue) form of cyclobenzaprine, is separately indicated for the treatment of fibromyalgia in adults. It is not the same as the oral tablet or capsule formulations.
