Here's the honest picture with Palbociclib (Ibrance). The concern on file is theoretical and comes from animal data only. In those studies, fermented wheat germ extract seemed to boost immune activity. Since this concern was written for immune-suppressing drugs, the worry is that the supplement might work against that kind of effect.

But Palbociclib isn't really a classic immunosuppressant. It's a targeted cancer pill (a CDK4/6 inhibitor) used with hormone therapy for certain breast cancers. So this particular interaction is a loose fit, and the evidence behind it is weak. The bigger reason to be cautious is simpler: this supplement is marketed toward cancer patients without solid proof, and it could affect your treatment in ways we don't fully understand. Please run it by your oncologist or pharmacist before adding it.

About Palbociclib

What Is Palbociclib Used For?

Brand name: Ibrance

Palbociclib (brand name Ibrance) is used to treat adults with hormone receptor (HR)-positive, HER2-negative advanced or metastatic breast cancer. It is always given in combination with other medicines — either an aromatase inhibitor as a first hormonal treatment, or with fulvestrant after the cancer has progressed on prior hormonal therapy. It is also used with inavolisib and fulvestrant for a specific subtype (PIK3CA-mutated, endocrine-resistant) of this cancer confirmed by an FDA-authorized test.

Ibrance is also approved in combination with trastuzumab (with or without pertuzumab) and endocrine therapy for maintenance treatment of adults with HR-positive, HER2-positive locally advanced or metastatic breast cancer, following initial induction treatment.
