Articaine, Epinephrine falls under ANESTHESIA — the group Fever Bark interacts with.

Theoretically, fever bark might increase the risk of cardiovascular instability with general anesthesia.
Reserpine, a constituent of fever bark, has been shown to increase the risk of cardiovascular instability in patients receiving general anesthesia. It is not known if this could occur with fever bark.

Here's the concern with this pairing. Your dental shot of Septocaine includes epinephrine, which already nudges up your heart rate and blood pressure to keep the numbing working longer. Fever bark contains reserpine-like and yohimbine-like alkaloids that also tug on your cardiovascular system and nerves. Combining the two could make your blood pressure and heart rhythm less predictable, with possible palpitations, dizziness, or swings in blood pressure during a procedure.

I want to be honest: this is mostly theoretical, based on older reports with reserpine itself, not solid studies on fever bark. Still, since fever bark has little safety data and potent alkaloids, I'd play it safe. Please tell your dentist or doctor you take it before any anesthesia, and check with your pharmacist first.

Fever bark is the bark of the Australian tree Alstonia constricta, used in traditional medicine for fever, diarrhea, and infections. There is very little reliable human research to support these uses, and the bark contains potent alkaloids that may cause serious side effects. It is best avoided unless used under direct medical supervision.
