Cyclobenzaprine falls under CYTOCHROME P450 2D6 (CYP2D6) SUBSTRATES — the group Fever Bark interacts with.

Theoretically, fever bark might increase the levels and clinical effects of CYP2D6 substrates.
In vitro research suggests that yohimbine, a constituent of fever bark, inhibits CYP2D6 enzyme activity. The effects of fever bark itself are unclear.

Here's the basic idea with these two together. Your body partly relies on an enzyme called CYP2D6 to break down cyclobenzaprine and clear it out. Fever bark contains a compound called yohimbine that, at least in lab studies, can slow that enzyme down. If that happened in real life, cyclobenzaprine could build up a bit more than usual, meaning you might feel its effects more strongly.

For cyclobenzaprine, that usually shows up as extra drowsiness, dizziness, dry mouth, and feeling foggy or unsteady. That said, this is theoretical. The evidence comes from test-tube work, not from people, and we don't really know how fever bark behaves in the body. Fever bark also has its own effects on blood pressure and heart rate, so it's worth running this combo past your pharmacist or doctor before mixing them.

Fever bark is the bark of the Australian tree Alstonia constricta, used in traditional medicine for fever, diarrhea, and infections. There is very little reliable human research to support these uses, and the bark contains potent alkaloids that may cause serious side effects. It is best avoided unless used under direct medical supervision.

What Is Cyclobenzaprine Used For?

Brand names: Cyclobenzaprine, Flexeril, Cycloprine

Cyclobenzaprine tablets and extended-release capsules are used alongside rest and physical therapy to relieve muscle spasm caused by acute, painful musculoskeletal conditions — easing pain, tenderness, and limited movement. This use is intended for short-term treatment only (up to 2–3 weeks).

Tonmya, the sublingual (under-the-tongue) form of cyclobenzaprine, is separately indicated for the treatment of fibromyalgia in adults. It is not the same as the oral tablet or capsule formulations.
