Bendroflumethiazide falls under ANTIHYPERTENSIVE DRUGS — the group Fever Bark interacts with.

Theoretically, fever bark might alter the effects of antihypertensive drugs.
Yohimbine, a constituent of fever bark, is an alpha-2 adrenoceptor antagonist and has been reported to increase blood pressure in clinical research. Conversely, reserpine can reduce both systolic and diastolic blood pressure. Theoretically, concomitant use of fever bark and antihypertensive drugs can interfere with blood pressure control.

Bendroflumethiazide is a thiazide-type water pill that lowers blood pressure by helping your body get rid of extra salt and fluid. Fever bark is a bit of a wild card here. It contains two opposing types of compounds: a yohimbine-like alkaloid that can raise blood pressure, and a reserpine-like alkaloid that can lower it. Because of this push-pull effect, fever bark could make your blood pressure harder to predict and keep steady while you're on this medication.

Keep in mind this is a theoretical concern based on how the plant's chemicals work, not on solid human studies, so don't panic. Still, given how potent and unstudied fever bark is, I'd skip it and check with your pharmacist or doctor before adding any new supplement.

Fever bark is the bark of the Australian tree Alstonia constricta, used in traditional medicine for fever, diarrhea, and infections. There is very little reliable human research to support these uses, and the bark contains potent alkaloids that may cause serious side effects.
