Phentermine falls under STIMULANT DRUGS — the group Fever Bark interacts with.

Theoretically, fever bark might increase or decrease the effects of stimulant drugs.
Reserpine, a constituent of fever bark, might increase or decrease effects of sympathomimetics. Also, yohimbine, another constituent of fever bark, has sympathomimetic effects and increases blood pressure in a dose-dependent manner. It is not known if this would occur with fever bark.

Here's the thing to keep in mind with phentermine: it's a stimulant that works like adrenaline in the body, so it already tends to raise heart rate and blood pressure and curb your appetite. Fever bark contains some unpredictable plant alkaloids. One of them (a yohimbine-like compound) can also act as a stimulant and push blood pressure up, while another (a reserpine-like compound) can pull in the opposite direction. So we honestly can't say which way it would tip phentermine's effects.

That uncertainty is exactly why I'd be cautious. Stacking phentermine with fever bark could mean a racing heart, jitteriness, and a spike in blood pressure, or it could blunt how well phentermine works. This is based on weak, anecdotal evidence, not solid studies, but please run it by your pharmacist or doctor before combining them.

Fever bark is the bark of the Australian tree Alstonia constricta, used in traditional medicine for fever, diarrhea, and infections. There is very little reliable human research to support these uses, and the bark contains potent alkaloids that may cause serious side effects. It is best avoided unless used under direct medical supervision.

Phentermine is approved as a short-term addition to a weight-loss program — not a standalone treatment. It is used alongside reduced-calorie eating, increased physical activity, and behavior changes to help manage obesity in adults whose body mass index (BMI) is 30 kg/m² or higher, or 27 kg/m² or higher when other risk factors such as controlled high blood pressure, diabetes, or high cholesterol (hyperlipidemia) are also present.

All available phentermine products — including Adipex-P, Lomaira, and various generic capsules and tablets — share this same FDA-approved use. Lomaira tablets are specifically dosed to be taken three times daily before meals, while other formulations are generally taken once daily. Treatment is intended to last only a few weeks.
