Oliceridine falls under CYTOCHROME P450 2D6 (CYP2D6) SUBSTRATES — the group Fever Bark interacts with.

Theoretically, fever bark might increase the levels and clinical effects of CYP2D6 substrates.
In vitro research suggests that yohimbine, a constituent of fever bark, inhibits CYP2D6 enzyme activity. The effects of fever bark itself are unclear.

Here's the gist with Olinvyk (oliceridine), an IV opioid used for short-term, severe pain in hospital settings. Your body relies partly on an enzyme called CYP2D6 to clear it. Fever bark contains a yohimbine-like compound that, in lab studies, can slow that same enzyme down. If that happens in real life, oliceridine could linger longer and hit harder, meaning more drowsiness, slowed breathing, nausea, low blood pressure, or constipation.

Now, the honest part: this is only a theoretical concern based on test-tube research, and the real effect of fever bark in people isn't known. Since oliceridine is given by clinicians in monitored settings, mention any supplements like fever bark to your care team so they can keep an eye on you.

Fever bark is the bark of the Australian tree Alstonia constricta, used in traditional medicine for fever, diarrhea, and infections. There is very little reliable human research to support these uses, and the bark contains potent alkaloids that may cause serious side effects. What Is Oliceridine Injection Used For?

Brand name: Olinvyk

Olinvyk (oliceridine) injection is approved for adults to manage acute pain that is severe enough to require an intravenous opioid analgesic. It is used only when alternative treatments are ineffective, not tolerated, or otherwise unable to provide adequate pain control.

Because of serious risks including addiction, misuse, overdose, and death, Olinvyk is reserved for situations where other pain management options are not sufficient. It is not intended for routine or chronic pain management.
