Remdesivir falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) INHIBITORS — the group Fever Bark interacts with.

Theoretically, CYP3A4 inhibitors might increase the levels and clinical effects of yohimbine, a constituent of fever bark.
In vitro and clinical research shows that the fever bark constituent, yohimbine, is metabolized by CYP3A4 enzymes.

Here's the angle that matters with this pairing. Remdesivir (Veklury) can act as a mild blocker of a liver enzyme called CYP3A4. Fever bark contains yohimbine, and that compound is broken down by that same CYP3A4 enzyme. So in theory, Remdesivir could slow the clearance of the yohimbine in fever bark, letting it build up a bit more than usual.

If that happened, you'd expect more yohimbine-type effects, things like a faster heartbeat, jitteriness, anxiety, higher blood pressure, or trouble sleeping. I want to be honest though: this is a theoretical concern based on how the chemicals behave, not something proven in real patients. Fever bark is something I'd steer clear of regardless, since its alkaloids can be risky. Please check with your doctor or pharmacist before combining them.

Fever bark is the bark of the Australian tree Alstonia constricta, used in traditional medicine for fever, diarrhea, and infections. There is very little reliable human research to support these uses, and the bark contains potent alkaloids that may cause serious side effects. What Is Remdesivir Injection Used For?

Brand name: Veklury

Veklury (remdesivir) is given by IV infusion to treat COVID-19 caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus. It is approved for adults and for children from birth through age 17 who weigh at least 1.5 kg (about 3.3 lbs).

Veklury can be used for patients who are hospitalized with COVID-19, or for patients who are not hospitalized but have mild-to-moderate COVID-19 and are at high risk of getting worse — including being hospitalized or dying from the disease.
