Garcinia + Glimepiride
Glimepiride brand name: Amaryl.
Garcinia has a moderate interaction with Glimepiride. Theoretically, hydroxycitric acid (HCA), the main active ingredient in garcinia, might have additive effects with antidiabetes drugs and increase the risk of hypoglycemia.

Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
ANTIDIABETES DRUGS
Why this applies to Glimepiride
Glimepiride falls under ANTIDIABETES DRUGS — the group Garcinia interacts with.
HCA reduces fasting and postprandial blood glucose levels in animal models, theoretically by delaying glucose absorption. This effect has not been reported in humans.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the thing to keep an eye on if you pair Garcinia with glimepiride. Glimepiride already lowers your blood sugar by nudging your pancreas to release more insulin. Garcinia's main compound, hydroxycitric acid, may also lower blood sugar a bit, at least in animal studies. Stack the two and, in theory, your sugar could drop lower than you want.
I want to be honest though: this concern is theoretical and based on lab and animal data, not real human reports. Still, it's worth watching for signs of low blood sugar like shakiness, sweating, dizziness, or feeling confused. Please check with your pharmacist or doctor before adding Garcinia, and keep monitoring your glucose if you do.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Glimepiride page
“Glimepiride (Amaryl) is a sulfonylurea, a diabetes pill that prompts the pancreas to release insulin, so anything that further lowers blood sugar can tip you into hypoglycemia, and that describes most of this list. Of the 306 supplement and herbal ingredients on file, 239 can move blood sugar on their own.”

About Garcinia
What is Garcinia?
- Weight loss
- Appetite suppression
- Curbing sugar and carb cravings
- Supporting metabolism
- Traditional cooking and souring agent
Garcinia is a tropical fruit whose rind contains hydroxycitric acid (HCA), widely marketed for weight loss and appetite control. The scientific evidence is weak and mixed, with most studies showing only small or no meaningful weight effects, and rare reports of liver problems raise safety concerns. Talk to a pharmacist or doctor before trying it, especially if you have liver issues, are pregnant, or are breastfeeding.
About Glimepiride
What Is Glimepiride Used For?
Brand name: Amaryl
Glimepiride tablets are used to improve blood sugar control in adults with type 2 diabetes. It is always used together with a healthy diet and regular exercise — not as a standalone treatment.
Glimepiride is not appropriate for type 1 diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis (a serious complication where the body produces high levels of blood acids called ketones), as it would not work in those situations.
