Acetohexamide falls under ANTIDIABETES DRUGS — the group Goji interacts with.

Theoretically, concomitant use of goji fruit polysaccharides or goji root bark with antidiabetes drugs might have additive effects.
Animal and in vitro research show that goji root bark and fruit polysaccharides might have hypoglycemic effects. However, clinical research has only shown that taking goji fruit polysaccharides with or without antidiabetes drugs modestly reduces postprandial glucose when compared with control, with no reports of hypoglycemia.

Here's the simple version: acetohexamide is an older sulfonylurea pill that lowers your blood sugar by nudging your pancreas to release more insulin. Goji, especially its fruit polysaccharides, may also gently lower blood sugar on its own. So when you put the two together, the effects could stack a little, meaning your numbers might dip slightly lower than usual.

The good news is this is a minor concern, and it's mostly based on lab and animal work. Human studies showed only a modest drop in after-meal sugar and didn't report any real low-blood-sugar episodes. Still, if you eat concentrated goji supplements regularly, it's worth watching for signs of low sugar like shakiness, sweating, or feeling lightheaded. Just give your pharmacist or doctor a heads-up before adding goji.
