Acetohexamide (Dymelor) is an older sulfonylurea that lowers your blood sugar by prompting your pancreas to release more insulin. The concern here is simple: Calea zacatechichi may also nudge blood sugar downward, so stacking the two could push your levels too low. That's called hypoglycemia, and with this drug it can show up as shakiness, sweating, a fast heartbeat, confusion, or feeling lightheaded.

I want to be honest about how solid this is, though. This warning is theoretical and comes mainly from animal studies, not human trials, so the real-world risk is probably small. Still, if you're curious about trying the dream herb while on acetohexamide, check in with your pharmacist or doctor first and keep an eye on your blood sugar readings.
