Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
STIMULANT DRUGS
Why this applies to Diphenhydramine, Pseudoephedrine
Diphenhydramine, Pseudoephedrine falls under STIMULANT DRUGS — the group Green Tea interacts with.
Green tea contains caffeine. Due to the central nervous system (CNS) stimulant effects of caffeine, concomitant use with stimulant drugs can increase the risk of adverse effects.
Interaction has not been documented in well-controlled studies, however, the interaction has been demonstrated in some small human studies or in controlled animal studies in conjunction with multiple case reports..
Here's the simple version. Actifed Allergy combines diphenhydramine (an antihistamine that tends to make you drowsy) with pseudoephedrine, which is a decongestant and a mild stimulant. Green tea naturally contains caffeine, which is also a stimulant. When you stack a stimulant on top of pseudoephedrine, the two can add up and nudge those jittery effects higher, so you might notice a faster heartbeat, restlessness, trouble sleeping, mild anxiety, or a bump in blood pressure.
This is mostly a theoretical, expert-opinion concern, and an occasional cup of green tea probably won't cause trouble for most folks. Concentrated green tea extracts or several cups a day are more likely to matter, especially if you have heart issues or high blood pressure. When in doubt, check with your pharmacist before combining them.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Diphenhydramine, Pseudoephedrine page
“This medicine pulls in two directions at once, which is exactly why the supplement list for diphenhydramine and pseudoephedrine (Actifed Allergy) is not one to skim. The antihistamine half is sedating, so anything else that slows the brain deepens drowsiness; beer, wine, and kava all carry major ratings, with alcohol the best documented.”

About Green Tea
What is Green Tea?
- Antioxidant support
- Weight loss
- Heart health
- Mental alertness
- Cancer risk reduction
Green tea is a popular beverage rich in antioxidants called catechins, and drinking it in normal amounts is considered safe for most people. Concentrated green tea extracts are a different story—they may help modestly with weight or heart health for some, but high doses have been linked to rare liver problems. Talk to your pharmacist or doctor before taking green tea supplements, especially if you have liver concerns or are pregnant.
