Green Tea + Salbutamol Sulfate
Salbutamol Sulfate brand names: Ventolin, Salvent, Salmol, Airomir, Asmasal Clickhaler, and others.
Green Tea has a moderate interaction with Salbutamol Sulfate. Green tea contains caffeine. Theoretically, concomitant use of large amounts of caffeine might increase cardiac inotropic effects of beta-agonists.

Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
BETA-ADRENERGIC AGONISTS
Why this applies to Salbutamol Sulfate
Salbutamol Sulfate falls under BETA-ADRENERGIC AGONISTS — the group Green Tea interacts with.
Interaction has not been documented in well-controlled studies, however, the interaction has been demonstrated in some small human studies or in controlled animal studies in conjunction with multiple case reports..
Here's the simple version when it comes to your Ventolin inhaler and green tea. Salbutamol is a quick-relief bronchodilator that can already make your heart race or pound a little, plus give you that jittery, shaky feeling. Green tea naturally contains caffeine, and caffeine is a stimulant too. So in theory, pairing the two could nudge those heart-related effects up a notch, meaning a faster or harder heartbeat and more of that wired sensation.
I want to be honest about how solid this is: it's based on pharmacology reasoning, not strong studies, and a normal cup or two of green tea is unlikely to cause trouble for most folks. Concentrated green tea extracts or heavy caffeine on top of frequent inhaler use are where I'd pay closer attention. If you notice palpitations or feel very jittery, check in with your pharmacist or doctor.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Salbutamol Sulfate page
“People who rely on salbutamol (Ventolin) to open their airways during asthma or COPD flares should give this list real attention, starting with its one major-rated interaction, activated charcoal. Charcoal, sold in detox and gut-cleanse products, can soak up many medicines and blunt their effect.”

About Green Tea
What is Green Tea?
- Antioxidant support
- Weight loss
- Heart health
- Mental alertness
- Cancer risk reduction
Green tea is a popular beverage rich in antioxidants called catechins, and drinking it in normal amounts is considered safe for most people. Concentrated green tea extracts are a different story—they may help modestly with weight or heart health for some, but high doses have been linked to rare liver problems. Talk to your pharmacist or doctor before taking green tea supplements, especially if you have liver concerns or are pregnant.
About Albuterol
What Is Albuterol Used For?
Brand names: Ventolin, Salvent, Salmol, Airomir, Asmasal Clickhaler, Salamol Easi-Breathe, Ventmax SR, Volmax, Ventolin Syrup, Ventolin Injection, Ventolin Evohaler, Ventolin Accuhaler, Ventolin Nebules, Ventolin Respirator Solution, Salapin, Salamol, Easyhaler Salbutamol, Pulvinal Salbutamol, Salbutamol Cyclocaps, Salamol Steri-Neb
Albuterol is used to treat or prevent bronchospasm — sudden tightening of the airways — in adults and children with reversible obstructive airway disease, such as asthma. Most inhaled formulations (HFA inhalers, dry-powder inhalers, and nebulizer solutions) are approved for patients 4 years and older, though some nebulizer solutions are approved for children as young as 2, and the oral syrup covers adults and children 2 and older. Albuterol tablets are approved for adults and children 6 and older.
Albuterol inhaled products are also used to prevent exercise-induced bronchospasm in patients 4 years and older. The inhaled aerosol solution (0.5%) is approved specifically for relief of bronchospasm and acute attacks in patients 12 and older. Not every formulation covers every use — follow the instructions for the specific product you have been prescribed.
