Here's the simple version: this isn't about green tea changing how Elotuzumab (Empliciti) works in your blood. It's about both being a little hard on the liver. Elotuzumab can occasionally bump up your liver enzymes, and concentrated green tea extract supplements have been tied to rare cases of liver trouble. Stacking the two could, in theory, add to that strain.

I want to be honest about how soft this concern is. It's based on scattered case reports, not solid studies, and it's considered unlikely to cause a problem. A cup or two of brewed green tea is very different from a high-dose extract pill. If you're taking the supplement form, mention it to your oncology team so they can keep an eye on your liver labs.

About Elotuzumab Injection

What Is Elotuzumab Injection Used For?

Brand name: Empliciti

Empliciti is used to treat multiple myeloma (a cancer of plasma cells in the bone marrow) in adults who have already tried other treatments. It is always given as part of a combination regimen — never alone.

Empliciti combined with lenalidomide and dexamethasone is used in adults who have received one to three prior therapies. Empliciti combined with pomalidomide and dexamethasone is used in adults who have received at least two prior therapies, including lenalidomide and a proteasome inhibitor.
