Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
CYTOCHROME P450 2B6 (CYP2B6) SUBSTRATES
Why this applies to Dicyclomine, Phenobarbital
Dicyclomine, Phenobarbital falls under CYTOCHROME P450 2B6 (CYP2B6) SUBSTRATES — the group Hibiscus Sabdariffa interacts with.
In vitro research shows that Hibiscus sabdariffa calyx extract inhibits CYP2B6. This interaction has not been reported in humans.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
This combination pill pairs dicyclomine (which calms stomach cramps) with phenobarbital, a barbiturate that also relies on liver enzymes to be cleared. The piece worth knowing is phenobarbital, since it's processed in part by an enzyme called CYP2B6. In a test-tube study, concentrated hibiscus extract slowed that enzyme down, so in theory phenobarbital could hang around a bit longer and feel stronger, meaning more drowsiness, grogginess, or dizziness.
Here's my honest take: this is purely a lab-based, theoretical concern that hasn't been seen in real people, and it's rated minor. A cup or two of tart hibiscus tea is very unlikely to cause trouble. If you're using concentrated hibiscus capsules, just mention it to your pharmacist or doctor first.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Dicyclomine, Phenobarbital page
“Bentyl w/ Pb pairs dicyclomine, a gut antispasmodic, with phenobarbital, a barbiturate sedative, and that second ingredient is why its 141 supplement interactions deserve real respect. Most of the list, 78 ingredients, deepens the drowsiness a barbiturate already causes, and with alcohol that stacking can reach dangerous sedation or sl…”

About Hibiscus Sabdariffa
What is Hibiscus Sabdariffa?
- High blood pressure
- Heart and cholesterol health
- Digestive upset
- Antioxidant support
- Fever and general wellness
Hibiscus sabdariffa is a tart, cranberry-flavored plant most often consumed as a tea, and its best-studied use is for mildly lowering blood pressure. Evidence for other uses is limited, and while hibiscus tea is generally well tolerated in food amounts, concentrated supplements should be used cautiously and avoided in pregnancy. Talk to your pharmacist or doctor before using it for a medical condition.
