Here's the gist: insulin glargine (Toujeo) is your long-acting background insulin, and its whole job is to gently lower your blood sugar through the day and night. Hibiscus, especially as a concentrated supplement, may also nudge blood sugar down a bit on its own. Stack the two together and the worry is that your numbers could dip too low.

I'll be honest, this is mostly a theoretical concern based on how hibiscus behaves, not strong human studies. Still, it's worth watching for signs of low blood sugar like shakiness, sweating, dizziness, or feeling foggy. An occasional cup of hibiscus tea is unlikely to cause trouble for most people, but daily supplement doses are different. Don't change your insulin on your own. Just check your glucose more often and loop in your pharmacist or doctor first.
