Ropivacaine falls under CYTOCHROME P450 1A2 (CYP1A2) SUBSTRATES — the group Hibiscus Sabdariffa interacts with.

Theoretically, Hibiscus sabdariffa extract might reduce the metabolism of CYP1A2 substrates.
In vitro research shows that Hibiscus sabdariffa calyx extract inhibits CYP1A2. This interaction has not been reported in humans.

Here's the gist with hibiscus and ropivacaine (Naropin). Ropivacaine is a local anesthetic that your liver clears mainly through an enzyme called CYP1A2. In a test tube, concentrated hibiscus extract appears to slow that enzyme down a bit. If that happened in the body, ropivacaine could hang around a little longer, which in theory might mean slightly stronger effects or a higher chance of side effects like dizziness, numbness around the mouth, ringing in the ears, or an unusual taste.

That said, this is purely theoretical lab data and has never been reported in real people. Ropivacaine is usually given by a clinician for a procedure, so just mention any hibiscus tea or supplements to your provider beforehand and let them guide you.
