Emapalumab-Lzsg falls under IMMUNOSUPPRESSANTS — the group Ipriflavone interacts with.

Concurrent use of ipriflavone and immunosuppressant drugs might have additive effects on inhibiting immune function. Some patients taking ipriflavone experience subclinical lymphocytopenia; avoid concurrent use. Immunosuppressant drugs include azathioprine (Imuran), basiliximab (Simulect), cyclosporine (Neoral, Sandimmune), daclizumab (Zenapax), muromonab-CD3 (OKT3, Orthoclone OKT3), mycophenolate (CellCept), tacrolimus (FK506, Prograf), sirolimus (Rapamune), prednisone (Deltasone, Orasone), and other corticosteroids (glucocorticoids).

Here's the simple version. Gamifant (emapalumab) is a powerful immune-calming antibody used for a serious condition called HLH. Its whole job is to dampen the immune system. Ipriflavone, while mostly studied for bone health, has been shown in some people to quietly lower certain white blood cells (a mild drop called lymphocytopenia). Stack those two together and you can get an additive hit to your immune defenses, which may leave you more open to infections.

This isn't an activation issue, so there's no prodrug twist here. It's just two things both pushing the immune system down. Since folks on Gamifant are already fragile, I wouldn't add ipriflavone on your own. Please run it by your doctor or pharmacist first, and report any fever, sore throat, or signs of infection right away.

What Is Emapalumab-lzsg Injection Used For?

Brand name: Gamifant

Gamifant is used to treat primary hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis (HLH) — a rare, life-threatening condition where the immune system becomes dangerously overactivated — in adults and children whose disease has not responded to, has come back during, or has progressed on standard HLH therapy, or who cannot tolerate it.

Gamifant is also used for HLH/macrophage activation syndrome (MAS) in adults and children with known or suspected Still's disease, including systemic Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis (sJIA), when glucocorticoids (steroid medicines) have not worked well enough, cannot be tolerated, or when MAS keeps coming back.
