Lumateperone falls under IMMUNOSUPPRESSANTS — the group Ipriflavone interacts with.

Concurrent use of ipriflavone and immunosuppressant drugs might have additive effects on inhibiting immune function. Some patients taking ipriflavone experience subclinical lymphocytopenia; avoid concurrent use. Immunosuppressant drugs include azathioprine (Imuran), basiliximab (Simulect), cyclosporine (Neoral, Sandimmune), daclizumab (Zenapax), muromonab-CD3 (OKT3, Orthoclone OKT3), mycophenolate (CellCept), tacrolimus (FK506, Prograf), sirolimus (Rapamune), prednisone (Deltasone, Orasone), and other corticosteroids (glucocorticoids).

Here's the honest pharmacist take: the interaction on file is really about immune-suppressing drugs, and it's a bit of an awkward fit for lumateperone (Caplyta). Caplyta is an atypical antipsychotic for schizophrenia, not a true immunosuppressant, so the listed concern (added effects on lowering immune function) doesn't map cleanly onto it.

The one piece worth knowing is that ipriflavone can quietly lower white blood cell counts in some people. That's its own effect and not something I'd expect to change how well your Caplyta works or how strong it feels. I would not stop or adjust either one on your own. Since ipriflavone's long-term safety isn't well proven, run it past your pharmacist or doctor before adding it, and they can check bloodwork if needed.

What Is Lumateperone Used For?

Brand name: Caplyta

Caplyta (lumateperone) is approved for adults with schizophrenia, depressive episodes associated with bipolar I or II disorder (bipolar depression), and as an add-on treatment for major depressive disorder (MDD).

For bipolar depression, Caplyta can be used on its own or alongside lithium or valproate. For MDD, Caplyta is used together with an antidepressant — not on its own as a standalone antidepressant.
