Jackfruit + Ibuprofen
Ibuprofen brand names: Motrin, Children's Motrin, Advil, Children's Advil, Fenbid Forte Gel, and others.
Jackfruit has a moderate interaction with Ibuprofen. Theoretically, jackfruit latex might increase the risk of bleeding when taken with anticoagulant or antiplatelet drugs.

Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
ANTICOAGULANT/ANTIPLATELET DRUGS
Why this applies to Ibuprofen
Ibuprofen falls under ANTICOAGULANT/ANTIPLATELET DRUGS — the group Jackfruit interacts with.
Jackfruit latex, which is the sap from jackfruit bark, contains chemicals that might increase the risk of bleeding. In vitro research shows that jackfruit latex contains a glycoprotein constituent that prolongs the activated partial thrombin time (aPTT) and reduces the activity of blood coagulation factors XIa and alpha-XIIa. Jackfruit latex also contains a protease constituent that has been shown to have fibrinolytic activity in vitro. Other parts of jackfruit, including the fruit and leaves, have not been shown to contain chemicals with fibrinolytic and anticoagulant activity.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the simple version: ibuprofen, like other NSAIDs, can already make it a little harder for your blood to clot and can irritate your stomach lining. The concern on file is that jackfruit latex (the sticky sap from the bark, not the fruit you eat) contains compounds that may also slow clotting. Stack the two together and, in theory, you could bruise more easily or have a higher chance of stomach or other bleeding.
But I want to be honest about how soft this evidence is. It comes only from lab studies, and it's specifically the latex/sap, not the jackfruit fruit, seeds, or leaves you'd normally eat. Enjoying jackfruit as a food is very unlikely to matter here. If you're using a concentrated jackfruit product, or you take ibuprofen often, just run it by your pharmacist or doctor first.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Ibuprofen page
“Most people treat ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin) as an everyday pain reliever, which is exactly why this list of 286 interacting supplements deserves real attention rather than a shrug. The dominant pattern by far is bleeding: 202 of these ingredients can add to the bleeding and stomach irritation ibuprofen already causes, and the seven maj…”

About Jackfruit
What is Jackfruit?
- General nutrition
- Blood sugar support
- Digestive health (fiber)
- Antioxidant support
- Wound care (traditional, latex/leaves)
Jackfruit is a large tropical fruit that is nutritious and safe to eat as a food, offering fiber, vitamin C, potassium, and antioxidants. While its leaves, seeds, and other parts are used in traditional medicine for things like blood sugar and digestion, strong human evidence for these supplement uses is limited. Talk to your pharmacist or doctor before using concentrated jackfruit products for a health condition.
About Ibuprofen
What Is Ibuprofen Used For?
Brand names: Motrin, Children's Motrin, Advil, Children's Advil, Fenbid Forte Gel, Ibugel Forte, Arthrofen, Ebufac, Rimafen, Calprofen, Fenpaed, Galprofen, Nurofen for Children, Orbifen for Children, Brufen, Brufen Retard, Fenbid, Tab-Profen, Ibuprofen, Calodor
Over-the-counter ibuprofen products (tablets, capsules and others) temporarily relieve minor aches and pains from headache, toothache, backache, muscular aches, the common cold, menstrual cramps and minor arthritis pain. They also temporarily reduce fever.
Prescription ibuprofen tablets are used for signs and symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis, mild to moderate pain, and primary dysmenorrhea (painful periods). Caldolor (intravenous) is used in adults and children 3 months and older for mild to moderate pain, moderate to severe pain along with opioid medicines, and fever. Ibuprofen Lysine (intravenous) is used only to close a patent ductus arteriosus (PDA, a heart vessel that stays open) in certain premature infants.

Ibuprofen Is Linked to Lower Levels of One Nutrient
Natural Medicines records Ibuprofen as a medicine that can lower these. This is not an interaction with Jackfruit — it is a separate effect of the medicine, and it is a reason some people are advised to supplement rather than to avoid one:
