Here's the simple version: Humalog (insulin lispro) is a fast-acting insulin that lowers your blood sugar after meals. Jiaogulan, in some studies, can also nudge blood sugar downward on its own. So when you stack the two together, the worry is that they may add up and push your sugar too low.

That means you could see more episodes of hypoglycemia: shakiness, sweating, a racing heart, confusion, or even passing out if it drops far enough. This is based on lower-quality human research plus the supplement's known sugar-lowering effect, so think of it as a real but moderate concern, not a guarantee. If you'd like to try jiaogulan, talk with your pharmacist or doctor first, check your sugars more closely, and don't change your insulin dose on your own.
