Here's the thing to keep in mind with Jiaogulan and Votrient (pazopanib). Pazopanib already carries its own bleeding risk on its own, since it can affect how the body forms clots and heals blood vessels. Lab studies suggest jiaogulan may make platelets a little less sticky, which in theory could nudge that bleeding risk a bit higher when the two are combined.

I want to be straight with you though: this concern comes only from test-tube research, not from real-world human studies, so it's more of a caution than a proven problem. Still, watch for things like easy bruising, nosebleeds, bleeding gums, or cuts that take longer to stop. Please loop in your oncology team or pharmacist before adding jiaogulan, since cancer therapy is one place where we don't want surprises.

Here's the idea behind this one. Pazopanib (Votrient) is a cancer medicine that works by slowing the growth and spread of kidney cancer cells. Jiaogulan, on the other hand, has shown signs in lab and animal studies that it may stimulate the immune system. The concern listed in our database is theoretical: a supplement that revs up immune activity could, in principle, push against the goals of cancer therapy.

I want to be honest with you, this is rated as theoretical and based on pharmacology, not on real-world cases with Pazopanib specifically. So I wouldn't lose sleep over it, but I also wouldn't add Jiaogulan on your own. Please run it by your oncologist or pharmacist first, since they're managing your cancer treatment and can give you the safest call.

About Pazopanib

What Is Pazopanib Used For?

Brand name: Votrient

Pazopanib tablets — sold as the brand Votrient and as generic pazopanib — are used to treat two types of advanced cancer in adults: advanced renal cell carcinoma (RCC), the most common form of kidney cancer, and advanced soft tissue sarcoma (STS) in patients who have already received prior chemotherapy.

Important limitation: Pazopanib has not been shown to work in adipocytic soft tissue sarcoma (a subtype involving fat cells) or in gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GISTs), so it is not used for those cancers.
