Chlorothiazide, Methyldopa falls under DIURETIC DRUGS — the group Lithium interacts with.

Theoretically, taking lithium supplements with loop diuretics might increase lithium levels and adverse effects.
Thiazide diuretics and loop diuretics might reduce lithium excretion, particularly in sodium-restricted patients. If lithium is clinically indicated and other treatment options are unavailable or inadequate in patients using diuretics, lithium treatment can be initiated with extreme caution. Serum lithium should be measured frequently and the doses used should be the lowest dose ordinarily tolerated. It is unclear if this interaction would be clinically significant with the smaller doses found in lithium supplements.

Aldoclor combines a thiazide-type water pill (chlorothiazide) with the blood pressure medicine methyldopa. Here's the part that matters: thiazide diuretics make your kidneys hold onto lithium instead of clearing it out. So if you pair a lithium product with this medicine, your lithium level can quietly climb. As lithium builds up, you may notice hand tremors, nausea, increased thirst and urination, or feeling shaky and confused. Higher levels can be genuinely dangerous.

To be fair, this is based on how the drugs work rather than hard studies, and it's not clear the low doses in supplements like lithium orotate would tip you over. Still, lithium has a narrow safety window, so please check with your pharmacist or doctor before combining the two.

This combo product pairs chlorothiazide (a water pill) with methyldopa (a blood pressure medicine), and both pieces matter when lithium is in the picture. Thiazide diuretics like chlorothiazide make your kidneys hold onto lithium instead of flushing it out, so lithium levels can creep up. On top of that, methyldopa has its own theoretical link to higher lithium levels. Together they can nudge lithium toward the toxic range.

If lithium climbs too high, you might notice nausea, hand tremor, slurred speech, confusion, or unsteadiness. The good news: this is mostly a theoretical concern, and the tiny amounts in lithium supplements may not cause trouble. Still, please check with your pharmacist or doctor before combining them.
