Here's the gist with Prestalia, which combines perindopril (an ACE inhibitor) and amlodipine (a calcium channel blocker). The ACE inhibitor half is what matters here. ACE inhibitors can make your kidneys hold onto a bit more sodium and water, and because your body handles lithium a lot like sodium, that can cause lithium to build up in your blood. So in theory, pairing the two could nudge lithium levels higher and bring on side effects like nausea, hand tremors, unusual thirst, or feeling shaky or foggy.

I'll be honest, this is a theoretical concern based on how these drugs work, and it's unclear whether the small amounts in lithium supplements (like lithium orotate) would matter much. Still, lithium has a narrow safety window, so please run this by your pharmacist or doctor before combining them.

Theoretically, taking lithium supplements with calcium channel blockers might reduce lithium levels and might also increase the risk of certain adverse effects.
Calcium channel blockers might reduce lithium concentrations. Monitor lithium levels with concurrent use. Calcium channel blockers might also increase the adverse neurological and gastrointestinal adverse effects of lithium. It is unclear if these interactions would occur with the smaller doses found in lithium supplements.

Here's the situation with your blood pressure pill Prestalia, which combines perindopril (an ACE inhibitor) with amlodipine (a calcium channel blocker). On paper, the calcium channel blocker part may nudge your body to handle lithium differently. Two things could happen in theory: your lithium levels might drift a bit lower, and at the same time you might feel more of lithium's side effects, like hand tremors, nausea, an upset stomach, or feeling shaky or foggy.

I want to be honest that this is a theoretical concern based on how these drugs behave, not strong real-world proof. It's also unclear whether the small amounts in over-the-counter lithium supplements matter at all.
