Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
CNS DEPRESSANTS
Why this applies to Aminophylline, Amobarbital, Ephedrine
Aminophylline, Amobarbital, Ephedrine falls under CNS DEPRESSANTS — the group Marsh Labrador Tea interacts with.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
The medicine you're asking about (Amesec) is a combination, and one piece of it is amobarbital, a barbiturate sedative. The concern here is with that sedative part. Marsh Labrador tea is thought to add to, or deepen, the calming and drowsy effects of barbiturates. So in theory, pairing the two could leave you more sedated than expected, with extra sleepiness, slowed breathing, dizziness, or feeling foggy and unsteady.
I want to be honest about how solid this is: it's a theoretical caution based on how these things work, not on strong human studies. On top of that, Marsh Labrador tea isn't considered safe to take routinely because it contains a natural toxin. I'd skip it and check with your pharmacist or doctor before combining anything with this medication.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Aminophylline, Amobarbital, Ephedrine page
“Amesec is an unusual mix, a sedative barbiturate (amobarbital) plus the stimulant ephedrine and the asthma drug aminophylline, so its interaction list pulls hard in both directions and deserves real care, with 21 of the 151 ingredients rated major. The most everyday hazard is caffeine.”

About Marsh Labrador Tea
What is Marsh Labrador Tea?
- Colds and respiratory complaints
- Cough and congestion
- Mild aches and joint discomfort
- Topical relief of skin irritation, swelling, and insect bites
- Traditional use as a diuretic
Marsh Labrador tea is a bog-growing shrub used in folk medicine for coughs, colds, and skin problems, but high-quality human evidence for any use is lacking. Because it contains grayanotoxins (andromedotoxin) that can be poisonous, it is not considered safe for routine use, and pregnant or breastfeeding people should avoid it.
