Here's the gist: oxazepam (Serax) is a benzodiazepine that calms the brain down. Marsh Labrador tea has been noted to add to the sedating effects of alcohol and similar central nervous system depressants. So the worry here isn't about how your body breaks the drug down, it's simply that two calming agents could stack on top of each other. That could leave you feeling extra drowsy, foggy, dizzy, or unsteady on your feet, and in older folks that raises the risk of falls.

I'll be straight with you, though, this caution is theoretical and based on the plant's pharmacology, not solid human studies. On top of that, this tea contains grayanotoxins that can be genuinely toxic, so I'd steer clear of it regardless. Please run it by your pharmacist or doctor before mixing anything with oxazepam.
