Amitriptyline, Chlordiazepoxide falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES — the group Padang Cassia interacts with.

In vitro research shows that a methanol extract of Padang cassia inhibits cytochrome P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) activity. Theoretically, taking Padang cassia with CYP3A4 substrates might increase the effects and side effects of these substrates.

Limbitrol DS combines amitriptyline (an antidepressant) with chlordiazepoxide (a benzodiazepine for anxiety). Both are broken down in part by a liver enzyme called CYP3A4. Lab studies suggest a concentrated extract of Padang cassia can slow that enzyme down. In theory, that could let these medicines build up a bit and make their effects stronger, things like extra drowsiness, dizziness, dry mouth, constipation, blurred vision, or feeling foggy.

I want to be honest about the evidence here: this is only test-tube research, not something proven in people, so I wouldn't lose sleep over it. Sprinkling cinnamon on your oatmeal is fine. It's the concentrated cinnamon capsules I'd run past your pharmacist or doctor first.
