Inhaled Insulin falls under ANTIDIABETES DRUGS — the group Padang Cassia interacts with.

Some clinical research shows that Padang cassia can reduce blood glucose levels in healthy patients and in patients with diabetes or impaired glucose tolerance (prediabetes). Here's the simple version: inhaled insulin (Exubera) already does one job, it pushes your blood sugar down. Some lower-quality studies suggest cassia cinnamon can nudge blood sugar down too. Stack the two together and the effects may add up, so your sugar could drop lower than you expect.

What that looks like in real life is the classic low blood sugar signs: shakiness, sweating, dizziness, a racing heart, confusion, or feeling suddenly hungry. A sprinkle of cinnamon on your oatmeal is very unlikely to cause this. The concern is with concentrated cinnamon supplement capsules taken daily. If you want to add one, check in with your pharmacist or doctor first, since your insulin dose might need a small tweak and you'll want to watch your numbers more closely.

Padang Cassia is a type of cinnamon (Indonesian or Korintje cinnamon) grown mainly in Indonesia and used widely as a kitchen spice. As a supplement, evidence for health benefits like blood sugar control is limited and mixed, and like other cassia cinnamons it naturally contains coumarin, which can be harmful to the liver in large amounts. Use food amounts freely, but talk to a pharmacist or doctor before taking concentrated cinnamon supplements.
