Here's the simple version: your Xelstrym patch delivers dextroamphetamine, a stimulant, steadily through your skin. Pu-erh tea brings its own stimulant to the table in the form of caffeine. Stack two stimulants together and their effects can add up. So this isn't really about the tea changing how your body breaks the drug down, it's more of a piling-on effect.

What that can feel like is a jittery, wired feeling, a faster or pounding heartbeat, trouble sleeping, or feeling more anxious or on edge. A cup or two of tea is usually mild, but larger amounts or concentrated pu-erh supplements are more likely to matter. If you notice these effects, chat with your pharmacist or doctor before making any changes.
