Omeprazole, Sodium Bicarbonate falls under CYTOCHROME P450 2C19 (CYP2C19) SUBSTRATES — the group Schisandra interacts with.

Theoretically, schisandra might increase the levels and clinical effects of CYP2C19 substrates.
In vitro research shows that schisandra inhibits CYP2C19, and animal research shows that schisandra increases the concentration of voriconazole, a CYP2C19 substrate. Theoretically, schisandra may also inhibit the metabolism of other CYP2C19 substrates. This effect has not been reported in humans.

Here's the simple version. The omeprazole in your Konvomep is cleared from your body largely by a liver enzyme called CYP2C19. In lab and animal studies, schisandra appears to slow that same enzyme down. If that held true in people, your body would break omeprazole down more slowly, so a bit more could build up in your bloodstream.

The good news is that omeprazole is generally very forgiving. A little extra usually just means slightly stronger acid-blocking, and any side effects (think headache, nausea, gas, or loose stools) tend to be mild. Right now this is only a theoretical concern that hasn't been shown in humans. Still, it's worth mentioning to your pharmacist or doctor before combining them, especially with daily supplement doses.

Here's the gist with omeprazole (the active acid-blocker in Konvomep, paired with sodium bicarbonate). Your body partly clears omeprazole using a liver enzyme called CYP2C9. Lab and animal studies hint that schisandra might speed that enzyme up, which could lower omeprazole levels and make it a bit less effective. In real terms, that might mean your heartburn, reflux, or stomach protection isn't controlled as well as usual.

I'd keep this in perspective, though. This is only a theoretical concern from test-tube and animal research, and it hasn't actually been seen in people. If you notice your reflux creeping back while taking schisandra, that's worth mentioning to your pharmacist or doctor before changing anything.

Schisandra can increase the levels and clinical effects of drugs metabolized by CYP3A4.
Most clinical and laboratory research shows that schisandra, administered either as a single dose or up to twice daily for 14 days, inhibits CYP3A4 and increases the concentration of CYP3A4 substrates such as cyclophosphamide, midazolam, tacrolimus, and talinolol. Although one in vitro and animal study shows that schisandra may induce CYP3A4 metabolism, this effect appears to be overpowered by schisandra's CYP3A4 inhibitory activity and has not been reported in humans.

Here's the gist of it. Your body uses a liver enzyme called CYP3A4 to help clear omeprazole. Schisandra appears to slow that enzyme down, so in theory the omeprazole part of your medication could hang around a little longer and build up slightly. Keep in mind, though, that omeprazole leans more heavily on a different enzyme (CYP2C19) for most of its breakdown, so this CYP3A4 effect is probably minor for this drug.

If anything did happen, you might notice more typical omeprazole effects like headache, stomach upset, or loose stools. Honestly, this is based on lab and animal data, not real patient cases, so I wouldn't lose sleep over it. Still, it's worth a quick chat with your pharmacist before adding schisandra.
