Polythiazide, Prazosin falls under DIURETIC DRUGS — the group Swamp Milkweed interacts with.

Theoretically, potassium depleting diuretics might increase the risk of toxicity with swamp milkweed.
Swamp milkweed contains cardioactive steroids known as cardenolides that may have digitalis-like activity. Potassium depletion can increase the risk of cardenolide toxicity.

Minizide is a combination product. The part that matters here is polythiazide, a water pill (thiazide diuretic) that makes you lose extra fluid and salt through your urine. One thing it can also do is lower your potassium level. The prazosin half mainly relaxes blood vessels and isn't really the concern for this particular interaction.

Here's the worry, and it's mostly on paper for now: Swamp Milkweed contains heart-active compounds (cardenolides) that act a bit like digitalis. When potassium runs low, the heart becomes more sensitive to those compounds, which can raise the risk of an irregular or unsafe heartbeat. This is a theoretical concern based on how these things work, not strong human studies, but milkweed sap is genuinely toxic. Please don't take it as a supplement without checking with your doctor or pharmacist first.
